Rose Family Estate

A REPUTATION FOR EXCELLENCE

Welcome to Rose Family Estate

The Rose family have called Marlborough home for many generations, and our roots run deep – not only in the wine industry, but the community too, since 1858.

It’s also hard to imagine a time when there were no grapevines in New Zealand's Marlborough region, considering the global status of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Since we first planted grapes back in 1978, the Rose Family has focused on producing quality grapes and subsequently premium wines, with integrity and solid family values.

Although Rose Family Estate is widely recognised as the home of the highly awarded Wairau River range of Reserve and Estate wines, we also produce Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and other varietals under other labels, and in collaboration with international partners.

WE'RE CELEBRATING 47 YEARS OF MARLBOROUGH GRAPE GROWING

ROSE FAMILY MILESTONES

The Rose Family history in Marlborough spans over 160 years, from John Rose's arrival into Marlborough from England in 1858. We planted our first grapes in 1978 as one of the earliest families to embrace an embryonic viticultural industry.

47 years on, Marlborough is now the largest wine region of New Zealand and wine is one of our country's largest exports. We're proud of our deep roots in this province and Rose Family Estate looks forward to continuing to play a major role in New Zealand's wine industry as we expand into new global markets.

We've documented our long history in Marlborough, celebrating this heritage and our most recent milestones. We encourage you to explore our Rose Family history.
