About Us
WE'RE FROM MARLBOROUGH, NEW ZEALAND
Rose Family Estate
Rose Family Estate is one of New Zealand's pioneering grape growers and winemakers.
Our vineyards, winery and offices on Rapaura Road are in the heart of the preeminent Wairau Valley sub-region of Marlborough's globally recognised Sauvignon Blanc district.
Although the Rose family has farmed and cropped here since 1858, it was only 120 years later as grape growing started to emerge in New Zealand, that we planted our first grapes.
GRAPEGROWERS & WINEMAKERS
HOME OF WAIRAU RIVER WINES
Since 1978, we've planted over 500 hectares (1300 acres) of grapes over 10 varietals, primarily comprised of the Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Syrah varietals as well as aromatics including Albariño, Grüner Veltliner and Viognier.
More recently, we constructed a state of the art crushing plant, winery, barrel room and bottling facility capable of processing up to 10,000 tonnes of grapes during each annual vintage and producing over 650,000 cases every year.
Many wine aficionados will be familiar with our Wairau River label, which we export to countries all around the globe. We also produce wines under a range of other labels.
MUCH MORE THAN SAUVIGNON BLANC
OUR WINES
The varietals we produce wine from include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer, Albariño, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gruñer Veltliner, Syrah and Viognier.

BESPOKE WINE COLLECTIONS
Collaborations
Rose Family Estate partners with a small number of carefully selected international restauranteurs and retailers to create bespoke collections of private labels for on-premise restaurants, supermarkets and liquor stores.
These wines are unique creations, reflecting the high quality brands of such partners, whilst still maintaining the impeccable standards of Rose Family Estate. If you are interested in collaborating on a bespoke label for your restaurant/supermarket group, please contact us.
EVERY GENERATION BRINGS POSITIVE CHANGE
History
Since John Rose arrived in the Wairau Valley back in 1858, our family has been farming some of Marlborough's finest pastoral land.

Our values are at the heart of what we do
Values
Our values genuinely are at the heart of what we do at Rose Family Estate every day. They shape our business from the core, ensuring we remain true to the pioneering spirit that the family exhibited when they first arrived in New Zealand and our Rose Family generations have strived to demonstrate over the past 167 years we've lived in Marlborough.

A WAY OF LIFE
SUSTAINABILITY
As a family making our living from the land, our decision-making has always been grounded in our responsibilities to both the environment and people. Recognising that traditional farming was not the best fit for our land was the first step towards growing grapes.
From land to table, Rose Family Estate is committed to not just mitigating but positively impacting our environment and people. We know that to do this requires creative thinking, innovative solutions and action. It needs to be a way of life.
